Avanti Laboratories is growing!

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Laboratory Accessioner. As a Laboratory Accessioner, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing laboratory specimens and ensuring proper documentation. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our laboratory operations and providing quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

- Receive and accession laboratory specimens, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation

- Verify patient information and ensure proper specimen collection procedures were followed

- Prepare specimens for testing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and labeling

- Enter specimen information into the laboratory information system (LIS) accurately and in a timely manner

- Maintain inventory of supplies and reagents needed for specimen processing

- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

- Collaborate with laboratory staff to troubleshoot specimen-related issues

- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in laboratory science is preferred

- Previous experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting is highly desirable

- Knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory procedures, and anatomy is a plus

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accuracy in data entry

- Proficient computer skills, including experience with laboratory information systems (LIS)

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Saturday: 12:00pm-4:00pm
